Something Wicked distillery bar
This is a 2nd Year project to design a bar and distillery in a large open plan building with a mezzanine level. The building is located in Newcastle Upon Tyne and is currently used as an office space. The distillery could produce an existing spirit or one of our own design, it had to incorporate a tour area, bar, toilets and the mezzanine level had to be included in the design.
MOODBOARD
The CAD images show my plan for the layout of the ground floor and the mezzanine. A partition wall separates the distillery and tour area from the main bar area. There is a lounge area beneath the mezzanine, toilets including an accessible WC to the rear of the building and a shop at the front. There is a variety of seating within the main bar, including 4 booths with tables to the right of the space. The mezzanine is used as a private lounge for distillery tour visitors. I created my own brand of spirit for this project as it gave me more freedom in the design and aesthetic. My spirit is a Scotch Whisky named Something Wicked. The name is taken from the Shakespeare play, Macbeth, and I used influences from this throughout my design.
