Microflat

Render1 kitchen-2.jpg

This is a 1st Year project. The assignment was to design a two storey apartment with limited space and light, creating an aesthetic which would be both appealing and practical for the client I was assigned.

Ground Floor Images

I wanted to create an aesthetic that was suitable for my client who was a single professional male.  I used a mixture of industrial style materials, such as brick and metal, with flooring and decor and lighting that is vintage in style yet clean and bright.  I kept decor and colours to a minimum, sticking to a palette of natural colours with splashes of a brighter green throughout.  The kitchen area could be opened up or closed off via sliding screens to the lounge area.  I incorporated as much storage as possible in the kitchen area, and an island/breakfast bar to provide seating for eating and socialising.  The lounge and kitchen both take advantage of the view and natural light from the full height metal framed windows.

Upper Floor Images

These images show the upper floor of the flat.  Metal framed screens are again used to divide the zones within the space whilst allowing maximum use of light.  A small balcony is accessed from the landing area, along with a bedroom with raised floor, a dressing room area with storage and a bathroom with bath, shower and WC.
